My collection of old pictures, Some outdoors scenes, activities and special places.

I was on an outdoor pursuits course, with Fairbridge Drake, when one of the instructors bet me I couldn't last the night in an improvised shelter with only my coat for warmth.

Another lad on the course, said that looks like fun, mind if I try as well ?.

That person was Lee Sawbridge, he has been a friend of mine now, for nearly 20 years.

And I did last the night.

The famous corner near shambles square, where the Wellington and the Oyster bar have been relocated.

They are easily my 2 favourite pubs in Manchester.

This spectacular shot, was taken from the Manchester Wheel.

This is the site (now part of Manchester museum) where George Stephenson's Rocket ran for the first time.

It would later become the rail link to Liverpool, making Manchester the first industrialized City on earth.

Rookin house farm, activity centre

I have been here several times, and done shotgun shooting, quad biking, and go karting.

They have a bunk house, with accommodation for 20 people.

One Christmas I made this small snowman, and actually built 2 beer bottles into its head so that its eyes were green.

The Cullins, from the Scottish mainland.

Me quad biking at Rookin house farm.

My first and only attempt at Skiing.

I love most outdoor pursuits, but honestly, I would rather memorize a dictionary, than go Skiing.

I went to the Isle of Skye, with Christine.

The camera that I was using, had a timer, so I set it up on the opposite side of a pond, to take a picture of us.

I didn't make it back in time, that's why I appear to be "dancing" in this shot.

A weekend in the lakes (my favourite destination, Keswick).

I couldn't resist a picture out off the window, off the rooftops.

One of the statues at the millennium dome.

It seemed fashionable at the time to criticise the dome. I didn't agree, I enjoyed it immensely.

Marconi, actually had a neural networked computer, shipped in from the CERN laboratory of particle physics, on display

If just one ordinary child, from a rough area is inspired by this, to break out of their environment, and pursue a career in technology, then I think it will have been worth it.

A statue of Oscar Wilde, in the park in Dublin.

Unfortunately, like many of my well laid plans, this one came awry.

When I got there, to be photographed next to it, the park was shut, and I ended up taking the picture from outside the fence.

The house I grew up in.

The balcony that inspired Romeo and Juliet.

Its not uncommon now, to see people in bars and cafe's with laptops.

One Sunday, some students, brought an entire desktop apple mac into the pub to do some work on.

Derwentwater Lake in Keswick.

One of my favourite circular walks.

This pictures was taken while I was staying at the Lodore falls hotel.

The Manchester Odeon on Oxford Road.

Loads of cool things have happened to Manchester over the last 10 years, but one of the tragedies is the rise of "super" cinemas, which has killed off smaller Cinemas like this one.

My brother and I used to go here most Saturdays, and lessons and ideas that later shaped my life were formed within the walls of this building.
