Unfortunately, this page is still under construction, in the short term, I have just put the pictures up.
I have added a few thoughts that I remember, but if you were on the trip with me, and you want to add anything to this page, email me at the address bellow.
When I was 22, I decided to visit Chamonix in the Alps.
The cost of an interail ticket was £35 more, and would allow us to visit some cities like Paris, Venice and Geneva, on the way there and back.
This is a picture of Venice, by far my favourite place on the trip.

We would visit places during the day, and sleep on the train overnight.
After a few days of that, we were exhausted
Here is a picture of Venice from the Train station doorway, taken just before we left.

On the waterfront, looking out towards the ocean.
The classic scene, of a Gondola oCaz and I next to one of only 3 bridges that cross the "reverse S" cannal.n the Canal.
Well thats what I thought from memory, but I went there recently, and this is actualy the entrance to the famouse Arsenal, and not actualy one of the river bridges.

At the time, it was about £60 for 40 minutes on a Gondola, which in those days, was massively over our budget.
We were on a tight budget at the time, but were able to get a slice of pizza, and a can of coke for less than £1 (my diet has changed a lot since then !)

I instantly recognised this area as the one used in the James Bond film Moonraker.
Next stop, Vienna
To be honest, I didn't think much of Vienna, and was a bit like London with Trams.

Some of the old buildings were impressive.
Nice was quite the safest City I had ever visited (although Caz did got robbed on the train, on way there !).
We had debated visiting Monte Carlo, but decided on here instead.

We spent some of the day, sat on the beach.
I remember a bloke on the beach with a small dog that swam in the ocean, which I named "little doggey" to everyones amusement.
Geneva.
It was fantastically expensive here. The only thing we could get to eat was from McDonalds
A view of all the shop fronts, from the lake.

We sat in the park and ate our McDonalds.
Not a very cultured scene I grant you, but we had a great time.
The famous Geneva watershute.
I read that it is turned of during the winter, as it would cause a horendous explosion if it froze.

Eiffel Tower.
I had my favourite t shirt on, which Brenda had given me.
Unfortunately, Lee seems to have photographed the wrong person !.
Paris was a city I had always wanted to see.
It was a brilliant trip, and it was like being James Bond, waking up in different countries each day
Notre Dam cathedral was the only place that had a public toilet.

The sane river.
Unlike the Thames, it forkes of in several places.
Walking along its banks is pretty exclent, as you see resteraunt boats, and artists.

A mainstreet in Munich
We visited one of the many beer gardens nearby, but the pictures never turned out.
I remember for my first drink, I ordered Cherry beer, that whilst intoxicating, wasnt terribly tasty.

While travelling back from Geneva, we got stranded in La Roche Sur Faron in the middle of the Alps, with no train back to the campsite, and none of our equipment.
We didn't have enough money to stay in a Hotel, so ended up standing around in the freezing cold, all night.
